It is so long since I have had a garden with a hedgehog; in fact, it was in Surrey and I was 14. Last week a guest saw a family of hedgehogs out on the grass near a flower bed. I am almost as thrilled about these visitors as I am about our recent awards. We love our animals at Palé.
In the past week we have received two local awards. Cheshire Life magazine awarded us their Best Dining Experience in North Wales. We were proud to be there at the ceremony representing our kitchen and restaurant team. Unfortunately Gareth – our Head Chef – has been poorly for a couple of weeks and wasn’t able to attend but this award is clearly an acknowledgement for the skill that he and his team have built together, as well as the friendly and professional restaurant service headed by Janine, our restaurant manager.
On Monday, we were visited by Economy Secretary, Ken Skates AM, who presented us with our Visit Wales Gold Award. We are enormously proud of this award; they scored us a spectacular 98% following our inspection. This puts Palé Hall firmly on the Welsh hospitality map. Ken was very impressed with Palé and said:

A few weeks ago, on Trip Advisor, a guest made a comment about the lack of Welsh staff at Palé which I robustly defended. We are always looking to recruit more staff and we would prefer to employ local people. As our business takes off we need more staff to ensure our guests are well looked after. You do not need relevant experience, rather it’s the type of person that is important, as full training will be given. We have both part-time and full-time positions available, which will include some weekend work. So, if you are cheerful, hardworking and loyal we’d love to hear from you.
