In just five months Christmas will be over and we will be looking forward to New Year and I bet I am not the first person to mention Christmas in your families. Our Christmas and New Year packages are ready and we are really excited to be opening them up for bookings.
Alan and I love big family Christmases and we have hosted a fair few of them. We are looking forward to greeting you and making your Christmas at Palé very special indeed. This year, we will have our own family Winter celebration in January after everyone else – that makes two Christmases for us and in my book the only way that could be improved upon is for there to be three …
You can imagine the joy we have had here, planning menus, music, decorations and then thinking through the days. Hotel guests should prepare themselves for an old fashioned, relaxing Christmas. Nothing is prescribed except Christmas lunch time; dip in and out as you please. Arrive early afternoon on Christmas Eve to log fires throughout the reception rooms, the scent of pine and spices hanging evocatively in the air, Christmas trees, garlands, lights and candles glowing. For those who wish to gather around the tree and sing Carols, harpist Rhianwen Pugh will be there to accompany us. This is to be a country house Christmas, and whilst we are planning a few surprises, you can definitely expect that a very special visitor will be parking his sleigh on the roof. Board games, cards, the Queen’s speech in the Library. Bring your dog, go for walks, relax and let us serve you. On Christmas day feel free to order breakfast in bed, go for a walk to work up an appetite or enjoy a good book by the fire, then Christmas lunch will be a festive feast. As the night draws in allow us to wrap you in a blanket of light and love. For the evening we will lay on a buffet so you can help yourself from a tempting array of delicacies that will of course include turkey sandwiches because they are one of our family traditions. Whether we are watching a Christmas special, playing cards, doing a jigsaw puzzle or putting on a family entertainment they are always there and Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without them. Whether you leave us on Boxing day, want to head to Chester for the sales or wish to abide with us a while longer we will give you a Christmas to remember. We can’t promise snow but we are certainly hoping for a light covering. There will be a limited number of tables available for non-residents so please book early. We are also running our Christmas festive menus from December 1st, so do book, a family event, a work dinner, a lunch or dinner with friends to get yourself into the festive spirit.
New Year is party time. We are honoured to announce that Michael Caines will be joining us for our New Year celebrations. This is a very special occasion indeed. We have a live band, spectacular fireworks, a gala dinner banquet style for up to seventy guests. Black tie, evening dress, party on to the early morning with bacon butties at 1am followed by carriages. New Year’s Day will start late with a buffet brunch. An evening with Michael Caines, co-hosted by wine expert Steve Edwards who will talk you through the wine flight will be the highlight of the day. As with Christmas we have a few surprises up our sleeves.
Do see our packages on the website, follow the booking button on the website, then click ‘Show rates’ and the info (i) button to see package options associated with each room.
Other important dates for your diary. We are proud of our close association with Michael Caines. Until Lympstone Manor in Devon opens in 2017 there are only three places you can eat Michael’s food. Pearls in Abu Dhabi, Kentisbury Grange in Devon and from September 1st, Palé Hall here in glorious North Wales. We are hosting two Gourmet evenings with Michael Caines this Autumn so contact us to book for September 15th 2016 or November 3rd 2016.
Our online dining booking goes live this weekend. In the meantime we can take bookings via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or by telephone 01678 530 285
