North Wales in Summer: Why Palé Hall Is the Place to Base Yourself This School Holiday
Mountains, lakes, coast and a Michelin-pedigreed kitchen to come back to - the Dee Valley in summer is worth the journey, and summer dates fill quickly.
Champagne, live music and long summer evenings above the Dee Valley.
There are certain pleasures that belong entirely to summer. The unhurried kind, where the evening stretches, the glass is never quite empty, and the view does most of the talking. This summer at Palé Hall, we have created something that captures exactly that.
We are proud to announce a new partnership with Veuve Clicquot, one of the world's most celebrated Champagne houses, as we open The Veuve Clicquot Terrace. An alfresco dining and drinking experience set against the sweep of the Dee Valley and the ancient hills of Eryri beyond.
A Setting Unlike Any Other
Palé Hall's terrace has always been one of the estate's most quietly spectacular spots. Located in the grounds, it looks out over a landscape shaped by centuries of Welsh countryside - the estate gardens in full summer bloom, and a horizon that shifts with the light throughout the day.
This summer, that setting becomes a destination in its own right. Guests are invited to take their time here, to settle into a deck chair, raise a glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, and let the afternoon or evening unfold as it will.
Live Music
The terrace comes alive with live music throughout the season, providing a gentle backdrop to early evening gatherings. Whether you arrive for a leisurely afternoon or linger into dusk, the music adds warmth and occasion without demanding attention — simply part of what makes an evening on the terrace feel like a moment worth remembering.
A list of all our live music dates are here.
Champagne and Seasonal Food
At the heart of the experience is Veuve Clicquot - poured as it should be, with care and without hurry. Alongside it, our terrace menu offers seasonal, thoughtfully prepared food designed for sharing and grazing in the open air. Dishes made to be enjoyed slowly, in good company, with a view.
Whether you join us for a glass and a plate before dinner, or make an afternoon of it entirely, the terrace is a place to exhale. There is no agenda here, only the pleasure of being somewhere beautiful, eating and drinking well.
The Veuve Clicquot Terrace is open to hotel residents and day visitors throughout the summer season. We look forward to welcoming you.
